Cisco EWDM-OADM4 4-Channels EWDM OADM Module; allows to add/drop Four Channels with different wavelengths and combine them with up to 8 CWDM channels into one pair of fiber. The four-channel and two-channel OADM (EWDM-OADM4= and EWDM-OADM2=) allows you to respectively add/drop four or two channels (with different wavelengths) and combine them with up to 8 CWDM channels into one pair of fiber. Dual fiber is used for both the network connection and the transceiver connections. The two OADMs are equipped with a port that allows you to connect to the booster amplifier and support the following wavelengths:
•EWDM-OADM4—1542.94 nm, 1542.14 nm, 1540.56 nm, 1539.77 nm.
•EWDM-OADM2—1560.61 nm, 1559.79 nm.
The Cisco EtherSwitch service modules provide Cisco modular access routers the ability to stack Cisco EtherSwitch service modules as Layer 2 switches using Cisco StackWise technology. The Cisco EtherSwitch service modules are supported by either the IP base image (formerly known as standard multilayer image (SMI)) or the IP services image (formerly known as the enhanced multilayer image (EMI)). The IP base provides Layer 2+ features, including access control lists (ACLs), quality of service (QoS), static routing, and the Routing Information Protocol (RIP). IP services provide a richer set of enterprise-class features, including Layer 2+ features and full Layer 3 routing (IP unicast routing, IP multicast routing, and fallback bridging). To distinguish it from the Layer 2+ static routing and RIP, IP services include protocols such as the Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP) and the Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) Protocol.
The module allows stacking over SFP+ ports and provides stacking bandwidth of up to 40 Gpbs over longer distance. It can be used to stack switches across wiring closets on different floors of a building or across different buildings in a campus.
The Cisco 2-Channel SFP WDM Transponder expands the range of applications and platforms supported by coarse wavelength-division multiplexing (CWDM) and dense wavelength-division multiplexing (DWDM) pluggable optics solutions from Cisco. It supports any client, any protocol, and any speed between 155 Mbps (OC-3/STM-1) and 2.488 Gbps (OC-48/STM-16).
