The module allows stacking over SFP+ ports and provides stacking bandwidth of up to 40 Gpbs over longer distance. It can be used to stack switches across wiring closets on different floors of a building or across different buildings in a campus.
The Cisco CWDM passive optical system provides optical networking support for high-speed data communication for metropolitan area networks (MANs) over a grid of eight CWDM optical wavelengths in both ring or point-to-point configurations. The Single-Fiber 4-Channel Multiplexer/Demultiplexer allows you to multiplex/demultiplex four separate channels into one strand of fiber. Dual fiber is used for the connections to the GBICs and single fiber is used for the network connections. The two models (CWDM-MUX-4-SF1 and CWDM-MUX-4-SF2) must be used together to create a four-channel single-fiber point-to-point link. This module uses the same CWDM GBICs as all of the other CWDM OADMs.
This CWDM OADM is passive device that can multiplex/demultiplex or add/drop wavelengths from multiple fibers onto one optical fiber. The OADM connectors are interfaced to the color-matching CWDM GBIC or CWDM SFP transceivers on the equipment side. Single-wavelength OADM are equipped with two channels traveling different network paths (east and west) to offer redundancy or protection in rings.
The Cisco enhanced wavelength-division multiplexing EWDM-MUX8) product allows users to scale the speed and capacity of the services offered in a coarse wavelength-division multiplexing (CWDM) network by offering the ability to insert up to 8 dense wavelengthdivision multiplexing (DWDM) wavelengths to the existing 8-wavelength CWDM channel plan.
